The Queer Heart
Sacred Belonging and the Return to Wholeness for LGBTQ+ Practitioners
There is a place within each being that exists before identity — a silent radiance where all expressions of love arise and dissolve. In this space, there is no separation between masculine and feminine, body and spirit, self and other.
It is the Heart — timeless, infinite, and free.
The Queer Heart honors this inner sanctuary as a living temple of truth. Rooted in the contemplative teachings of Advaita Vedanta and the tantric path of union, these offerings celebrate queerness as a spiritual language — an embodiment of the Mahavakya “Aham Brahmasmi — I am Brahman.”
Here, queerness is not difference; it is diversity within the One. It is the dance of Shiva and Shakti inside each of us, the play of polarity returning to stillness. These offerings invite participants to experience practice as liberation — to rest beyond labels, to feel the sacredness of their own bodies, and to encounter the Divine in every expression of love and self-discovery.
Whether experienced through movement, meditation, dialogue, or silent retreat, The Queer Heart is a journey back to simplicity:
A remembrance that we are already whole.
That love, when seen through awareness, has no opposite. And that God — like the Heart — is Queer.
For a clearer sense of how these immersions unfold, you may explore a sample agenda below.
The Queer Heart Retreat
Silence, Belonging, and the Presence of Love
-
In stillness, the Heart reveals what words cannot:
That all longing, difference, and becoming are waves in the same ocean of Being.
The Queer Heart Retreat is a contemplative immersion into silence and presence — a space where queerness, spirituality, and community converge in authenticity and love.
Rooted in the contemplative methods of Hridaya Meditation and Heart-centered Hatha Yoga, this retreat creates an intimate container for participants to rest deeply in awareness while honoring the sacred diversity of their identities and experiences.
Here, silence is not withdrawal — it is belonging. It allows the noise of inner narratives to dissolve, revealing the quiet radiance of the Heart that holds everything exactly as it is.
For queer practitioners, this is both sanctuary and initiation — a remembrance that the journey of return is not toward becoming someone else, but toward being fully oneself, in love and awareness.
-
Silent meditation and Heart awareness as direct paths to wholeness.
The integration of queerness and spirituality beyond identity constructs.
Embodied devotion through Hridaya Hatha and the awareness of Spanda — the subtle pulsation of the Heart.
The unfolding of compassion and unity in shared stillness.
-
Queer-identifying practitioners and allies drawn to deepen their meditation and yoga practice in a loving, inclusive, and contemplative community.
Available as a full-day or weekend retreat. Includes guided Hridaya Meditations, silent sittings, embodied movement, journaling, devotional chanting, and heart-based sharing. Adaptable for retreat centers, resorts, or dedicated studios.
Beyond Identity
Self-Inquiry and the Freedom to Be
-
For many queer beings, the question Who am I? is not theoretical — it is lived.
It begins as the trembling of difference, the quiet questioning of belonging, and matures into the deepest spiritual inquiry: What is this “I” that perceives, loves, and changes?
Beyond Identity honors this natural intelligence of the Heart — the innate contemplative wisdom that has always lived within the queer experience.
Through the practice of Self-Inquiry (Ātma Vichāra), participants are guided to rest in the awareness that perceives all movement of thought and emotion without judgment or label.
This awareness is the true refuge — vast, silent, and unbroken. From here, the stories of identity soften, not because they are denied, but because they are seen in their luminous transparency.
To recognize the Self is not to erase individuality — it is to perceive every expression of it as sacred play, as consciousness exploring its own reflection.
-
The question Who am I? as a living meditation.
Awareness as the space in which all identities arise and dissolve.
Self-acceptance and belonging through witnessing, not defining.
Resting as the Heart — where difference and unity coexist.
-
Queer practitioners drawn to authenticity beyond constructs— ideal for group workshops, intimate retreats, or contemplative movement sessions.
Available as a half-day immersion, or multi-day retreat module.
The Body as Temple
Embodiment as Devotion
-
The body is not an obstacle on the path — it is the altar of awakening.
In every breath, in every pulse of sensation, Divinity reveals itself as form.
For queer practitioners, this realization becomes a sacred act of belonging — an invitation to reclaim the body not as a source of shame or struggle, but as a vessel of reverence.
The Body as Temple explores embodiment through both masculine and feminine energies, or emissive and receptive qualities, beyond the duality of gender or identity. In this space, movement becomes prayer and stillness becomes intimacy.
Participants are guided to experience yoga as the dance of polarity returning to unity — Shiva and Shakti intertwined within the same Heart.
When practice arises from devotion rather than correction, the body becomes transparent to awareness, and each posture, each breath, becomes a gesture of love.
-
The body as sacred space: awareness through movement and stillness.
The integration of emissive (masculine) and receptive (feminine) energies beyond gender or identity.
Embodiment as meditation, devotion, and self-acceptance.
The recognition of oneness through polarity and diversity.
-
Queer practitioners wishing to experience yoga as a devotional path of self-integration, compassion, and joy. Perfect for group workshops, intimate retreats, or contemplative movement sessions.
Available as a half-day immersion, or multi-day retreat module.
The Fire of the Heart
Spanda — Longing, Love, and Liberation
-
Longing is the pulse of the Heart — the vibration of consciousness yearning to know itself. What we call desire, what we call love, is Spanda — the sacred tremor through which stillness becomes life, and the Infinite takes form as feeling.
The Fire of the Heart invites participants to rediscover this inner vibration — the divine movement within stillness that animates all experience.
Rooted in the Hridaya teachings and the nondual traditions of Kashmir Shaivism, this immersion transforms longing into recognition: the ache of separation is nothing but the rhythm of union seeking expression.
For queer beings, whose lives often reflect the dance between dualities — between visibility and silence, between individuality and belonging — Spanda becomes a revelation: that even our most tender contradictions are the play of one universal pulse.
When we rest in this vibration consciously, desire loses its grasping and reveals its essence — the Heart’s pure joy of being alive.
-
Spanda as the vibration of love within stillness.
Longing as a sacred bridge between humanity and divinity.
The transformation of desire into devotion and surrender.
Emotional awareness as an expression of consciousness in motion.
-

Available as a half-day immersion, or multi-day retreat module.
